Responsibilities
The Backend Developer will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power our platforms and products. The role focuses on developing secure, high-performance server-side applications using NestJS and/or Next.js (API routes), working closely with frontend, product, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. Backend Development
Design and implement RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using NestJS or Next.js API routes
Build scalable, maintainable, and well-structured backend services
Develop business logic, data models, and integrations with third-party services
Architecture & Performance
Contribute to backend architecture and system design decisions
Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability
Implement caching, rate limiting, and background jobs where needed
Databases & Data Management
Design and manage relational and/or NoSQL databases
Write efficient queries and optimize database performance
Implement data validation, migrations, and versioning
Security & Quality
Implement authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth, role-based access)
Follow best practices for security, data protection, and compliance
Write clean, testable code with unit and integration tests
Collaboration & Delivery
Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and designers
Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions
Support deployments, monitoring, and production issues

Qualifications
Technical Skills
5+ years of backend development experience
Strong experience with Node.js
Hands-on experience with NestJS and/or Next.js (API routes / server actions)
Experience building APIs (REST / GraphQL)
Solid understanding of async programming and event-driven architectures
Databases & Infrastructure
Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases
Familiarity with MongoDB, Redis, or other NoSQL / caching solutions
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Understanding of Docker and CI/CD pipelines
5+ years of backend development experience
Strong experience with Node.js
Hands-on experience with NestJS and/or Next.js (API routes / server actions)
Experience building APIs (REST / GraphQL)
Solid understanding of async programming and event-driven architectures
