Responsibilities
General Role
The Community Awareness / Outreach Officer is responsible for disseminating awareness messages related to Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) within beneficiary communities and ensuring individuals understand their rights and available reporting mechanisms.
Work Locations: Azaz – Safira – Manbij – Aleppo
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct awareness sessions on beneficiaries’ rights.
- Disseminate key PSEA messages within the community.
- Raise awareness that humanitarian assistance is free of charge.
- Inform community members that no one is allowed to request favors or payments in exchange for assistance.
- Inform communities about available reporting mechanisms.
- Promote a culture of reporting abuse and misconduct.
- Work with community leaders and stakeholders to disseminate prevention messages.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Humanitarian Studies, Psychology, or a related discipline (Master’s degree is an asset).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in humanitarian work, protection, or a related field.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an asset.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong community communication skills.
- Experience in community work or protection programming.
- Ability to simplify and effectively communicate awareness messages.
- Good understanding of the social and cultural context of the community.
