Responsibilities
•Investigating allegations of child abuse by conducting interviews, inspections, and monitoring suspicion on program and national levels.
•Develops, assesses, and implements Child protection investigation protocols for assigned cases to determine legitimacy of allegations.
•Documenting and reporting all new findings of abuse cases, results and generating final investigation reports to the child safeguarding advisor.
•Collaborating with social workers, psychologists, and lawyers, to develop support and intervention strategies.
•Performing follow-up investigations of cases and take part in conducting the national/location risk assessment.
•Support the national and location CS teams in developing individual support plans for victims/survivors to ensure that their concerns are heard and their needs met
•Support on developing the action plan after investigation.
•Follow up on the progress of action plan whenever requested.
•Follow up to ensure that necessary actions are taken with respect of perpetrators, in accordance with national law
•Report regularly to the National CS advisor on the progress of all commissioned investigations and fulfillment of planned response actions for victims/survivors and perpetrators.
•Testifying in court and presenting all evidence and investigative documents.
•Ensure strong focus on CS prevention by organizing with CS teams informal and formal discussions, workshops and other capacity building activities for children and young people to make them understand the CS risks and protection mechanisms
•Facilitate internal knowledge sharing on Child Safeguarding with a strong focus on prevention and capacity building.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in law, Education, Guidance/Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
•At least 2-3 years work experience in the field of invistigation, safeguarding and or child protection
•Knowledge of international child safeguarding standards
•Knowledge of child protection legislation and mechanisms in Syria.
•Training and experience in investigation of child abuse and neglect
•Proven project and team management skills
•Good coordination and organization skills, including ability to plan, organize and deliver results
•Ability to prioritize and handle a large amount of information
•Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills
•Excellent report writing skills.
•Fluent Arabic and English
