Responsibilities
1. Support the IBG Programme Manager and officer in drafting project proposals by providing
relevant information and reports according to the Syrian context.
2. Support the establishment of a reporting system, draft regular reports, updates and briefings
on the progress in the implementation and achievements, based on the inputs from other staff.
4. Draft progress reports for all IBG projects, based on results-based monitoring and evaluation,
including information regarding the impact of projects, and provide timely submission of reports,
in coordination with External Relations, PSU and PIO, as necessary;
5. Collaborate on the implementation of IOM’s IBG work plans and monitoring and evaluation
mechanisms;
6. Provide support in the preparation of project implementation plans, annual work plans and
budgets, availing required documentation;
7. Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
The incumbent will assist in collecting, consolidating, and validating project data from implementing
teams and partners; tracking outputs, indicators, and workplan progress; and supporting the
preparation of situation updates, briefing notes, and internal summaries in line with IOM standards and
deadlines. The role will also support monitoring visits and follow-up actions, maintain organized M&E
and reporting files, and contribute to analysis, lessons learned, and recommendations to strengthen
programme quality and evidence-based decision-making
8. Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local
authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental
organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
9. Provides guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring work of other staff in the
unit; may supervise other staff as assigned, particularly related to border management construction
projects in the field.
10. Participate in programme and projects reviews related to reporting, monitoring and evaluation
activities, and draft minutes of meetings;
11. Monitor the activity of implementing partners and verify they deliver planned assistance to the
beneficiaries within the timeframe and according to work plans, including in relation to financial
tracking, information management and reporting;
12. Assist with the production and dissemination of information and visibility material, including
drafting of contents for brochures, web sites, newsletters, leaflets;
13. Organize events, meetings and training with beneficiaries, civil society organizations, NGOs,
embassies and all other relevant stakeholders with the aim of promoting IBG activities and
disseminate its results;
14. Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the IBG Project Manager

Qualifications
EDUCATION
• School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development
Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited
academic institution with at least four years of relevant professional experience.

EXPERIENCE
• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United
Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
• Experience supporting reporting and M&E processes, including report drafting, consolidation
of inputs, and summarization of complex information into clear narrative outputs.
• Experience supporting the design and tracking of M&E frameworks (logframes/results
frameworks, theory of change, indicator matrices).
• Experience developing and maintaining indicator tracking tools (KPI dashboards, results
trackers, monitoring plans)
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, law enforcement
agencies, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting
is an advantage.

Specific Vacancy Requirements
SKILLS
• In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the
Organization; and,
• Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
• Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).

Languages
For this position, fluency in English and Arabic is required (oral and written).
