Responsibilities
Position Objective:
Support OSP field survey activities for telecom infrastructure projects by conducting site assessments, collecting accurate field data, and assisting with route verification for fiber network implementation. Ensure survey activities are completed in compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and technical guidelines.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Conduct OSP field surveys for underground and aerial fiber optic routes.
Capture measurements, site conditions, and photographs of existing infrastructure, including ducts, manholes, handholes, poles, and vaults.
- Assist in verifying proposed routes by identifying physical obstacles, utility conflicts, and accessibility issues.
Collect and document field data, including cable routes, duct availability, and infrastructure conditions, using GPS and GIS tools.
- Prepare field notes, sketches, photographs, and survey records for engineering and planning teams.
Perform site inspections for proposed fiber routes and report field observations.
- Identify existing utilities such as power, water, gas, and drainage systems during survey activities.
- Open handholes and manholes to verify duct availability and cable occupancy where required.
Upload and maintain survey data, GPS coordinates, and technical records in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or related systems.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, and field teams to support project execution activities.
Ensure compliance with telecom standards, safety procedures, and project requirements during all survey activities.
- Maintain accurate reporting, organization, and documentation of field survey activities.
