Responsibilities
Project Coordination and Implementation
-Coordinate and oversee the implementation of all project activities in targeted areas, ensuring alignment with approved work plans, timelines, budgets, and donor requirements.
-Translate project objectives into practical field-level action plans and support the development of detailed implementation schedules.
-Follow up daily with field teams and implementing partners to ensure timely achievement of project indicators and targets.
-Coordinate closely with technical, logistics, procurement, finance, and MEAL departments to ensure smooth project implementation.
-Identify implementation challenges, operational risks, and bottlenecks, and propose timely corrective actions.
-Support the consolidation of implementation plans, operational calendars, and activity tracking tools.
Technical Supervision and Quality Assurance
-Supervise agricultural, irrigation, veterinary, and livelihood activities implemented under the project.
-Monitor rehabilitation works related to irrigation systems, wells, solar energy systems, and agricultural infrastructure.
-Follow up on distributions and field activities including seeds, fertilizers, irrigation kits, livestock support, food parcels, trainings, and cash or in-kind assistance.
-Ensure quality standards, technical specifications, and donor compliance requirements are maintained throughout implementation.
-Support beneficiary selection, verification, registration, and monitoring processes in coordination with field and MEAL teams.
-Ensure accurate data collection, verification, documentation, and proper archiving of project records and supporting documents.
-Promote climate-smart agriculture and sustainable livelihood approaches within project activities.
Partnership, Coordination, and Representation
-Maintain regular communication and coordination with implementing partners, local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
-Support partners in applying project guidelines, safeguarding principles, compliance standards, and reporting requirements.
-Provide technical and operational support to partners in documentation, reporting, and community engagement.
-Maintain positive relationships with beneficiaries and community representatives while ensuring accountability and transparency in all field operations.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Administrative Follow-Up
-Prepare and consolidate weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports and field updates.
-Monitor project indicators and track achievements against planned targets and deliverables.
-Ensure all activity evidence and project documentation, including attendance sheets, beneficiary lists, photos, delivery notes, and technical records, are complete and audit-ready.
-Support donor and internal reporting processes through timely submission of accurate field data and analysis.
-Follow up procurement requests, technical specifications, BOQs, and delivery timelines related to project activities.
-Prepare success stories, lessons learned, and case studies when required.
Qualifications
Education:
-Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Agronomy, Rural Development, or related field
Experience:
-Minimum 3 years of experience in humanitarian and development projects.
-Previous experience in agricultural livelihoods, livestock, or food security projects.
-Experience in project coordination and field team supervision.
-Good understanding of donor compliance and reporting requirements.
-Strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills.
-Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Skills & Competencies:
-Excellent coordination, reporting, and field management skills.
-High communication and interpersonal skills with multicultural teams.
-High level of cultural sensitivity and emotional intelligence.
-Excellent verbal and written communication (Arabic is essential; English is required).
-Strong knowledge of agricultural and livestock interventions.
-Familiarity with irrigation systems, solar-powered water systems, and climate-smart agriculture.
-Experience in beneficiary targeting and distribution activities.
-Good reporting and documentation skills.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
Travel
-Based in Homs with frequent travel to field sites as required.
-Ability to work in dynamic, sometimes insecure environments

About the Role:
The Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day field implementation and progress of projects delivered by implementing partners across the assigned geographic area. The role ensures the timely and effective execution of project activities, compliance with quality and organizational standards, and strong coordination between implementing partners, field teams, and Organization’s Syria Country Office.
The position plays a key role in tracking operational progress, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and ensuring that project objectives are achieved within scope, budget, and timeline.
The Project Coordinator will lead the overall coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities related to agriculture, irrigation, livestock, and livelihoods support interventions. The role ensures that all activities are implemented in line with approved project plans, donor requirements, technical standards, and organizational procedures.
In addition, the Project Coordinator will supervise field teams, coordinate with partners and stakeholders, monitor progress against targets, and ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of project outputs.
