Responsibilities
Act as security focal point for GVC mission in Syria
Provide relevant security briefings to the staff, both national and expat
Gather security and safety-related information and share it with relevant GVC staff
Create, activate, and follow-up policies and procedures to ensure safety and security for staff
• Act as an advisor to the HoM on the management of safety and security for the mission
• Respond to emergency and crises situations where and when needed
• Act as a liaison officer with local and regional officials, UN, INGO, and other agencies in planning, coordinating, promoting, and supporting safety and security-related matters.
Collect, author, compile and analyze security-related reports/updates, and humanitarian-related information from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
Track and report incidents, trends, and geopolitical situations in Syria in general and especially in areas where GVC operates.
Coordinate and track staff movements from/to Syria and between governorates in Syria
Under the HoMs supervision, coordinate with HQ to ensure proper implementation of safety and security policies and procedures
Provide capacity building on safety and security to GVC staff
Support HoM on any other safety and security matters, as required.

Qualifications
Educational Background: BA degree relevant to the position.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the same or similar position.
At least one year of experience with a humanitarian INGO/NGO (preferably).
Languages: Very good in Arabic and English.
Personal qualities and soft skills:
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of the MS office software (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Capacity to produce high-quality briefs and reports in English.
- Data collection and management skills.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the same or similar position.
