Road to Resilience: Making Rural Agricultural Communities in Syria more viable (RRMACS) aims to enhance the resilience of rural communities, with a particular focus on women and youth in six target governorates: Hama, Homs, Aleppo, Rural Damascus, Tartus, and Sweida. This will be achieved through (i) engaging the small-holder farmers in Farmers Groups and enhancing the cooperative actions, (ii ) strengthening strategic agriculture, horticulture, and livestock value chains (iii) increasing access to agriculture business services and financing.
The Project Finance Officer is responsible for checking all invoices/bills related to his/her respective departments/programmes, managing sector project petty cash, transaction/data entries in FIS (iScala), verification of bills/invoices/supporting documents, preparation of expense summaries, comparison with budget/AWP and financial analysis. The incumbent will report directly to the Assistant Manager Finance– Grants and Compliance
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check and verify daily invoices/bills for preparation for project audit and grant compliance
- Ensure all financial transactions strictly adhere to AKF’s Policies and Procedures.
- Programme physical cash count on daily basis.
- Visit various Programmes/Departments for preparing expense statements & other support at different locations
- Check the programme’s related contracts/proposals/agreements i.e. CBOs, SPs, Vendors etc.
- Accounting entry to iScala and Cash Verification Report.
- Preparation of financial analysis and due monitoring of AWP vs Actual expenses for the related project
- Bank/Cash payment verification and ensure that all supporting documents are provided; contracts, invoices etc.
- Prepare monthly Finance Fund Monitoring report/monthly financial updates.
- Prepare Financial Report, funding position/Cash requests, and forecasts for the project.
- Prepare Annual Work Plan (AWP) for the project in consultation with the programme team.

- The applicant must have a university degree in Economics or professional qualification in accounting.
- Two years of experience in the accounting field
- Personal initiatives and self-motivation.
- Good time management, communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Very good command of English and Computer skills especially Excel.
- Male applicant should have finished their military service, exempted, or postponed for one year at least.
