Responsibilities
The Project Officer for the Community-Based Socio-Therapy (CBS) and the Group Cash Transfer (GCT) Activities Implementation will act as the primary focal point and supervisor for all activities conducted by local partner(s) in the implementation of the CBS and GCT initiatives in Aleppo, Syria. This position focuses on fostering community resilience through psychosocial support and financial empowerment, involving active partnership with local organizations and community engagement.
1.Project Supervision and Coordination:
•Supervise the implementation of the activities by the local partner(s), collaborate with management to resolve any issues, offer technical expertise, and ensure proper documentation is carried out.
•Serve as the liaison between ZOA and local partner(s) for both CBS and GCT activities, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
•Participate in the selection, training, and ongoing support of group facilitators for both CBS and GCT initiatives, ensuring they are equipped to guide community groups effectively.
2.Community Engagement and Capacity Building:
•Support in community engagement efforts in collaboration with ZOA’s local partner(s) to introduce and explain the objectives of both CBS and GCT projects, building trust and ensuring community buy-in.
•Collaborate with local partners to organize community meetings and community mobilization, awareness sessions, and use social media platforms to enhance outreach and engagement for both initiatives.
3.Support Project Implementation:
•Participate in planning, organizing, and facilitating CBS and GCT activities in collaboration with local partner(s).
•Coordinate training sessions for facilitators and community groups, ensuring that all logistical arrangements are in place.
4.Promotion of Social Cohesion and Empowerment:
•Ensure community members’ engagement through CBS activities that encourage psychosocial support and collective action, enhancing social ties and community resilience.
5.Follow-up and Monitoring:
•Conduct regular follow-up visits with ZOA partner(s) to socio-groups and CBOs to monitor progress and provide assistance as needed.
•Gather and compile feedback from the local partner(s) to report on project effectiveness and challenges.
6.Documentation and Reporting:
•Document the project activities, including meeting notes, training reports, and participant feedback.
•Review and amend regular reports from local partner(s) and guarantee punctual submission to the line manager. Prepare internal and external reports, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with project goals.
7.Stakeholder Engagement:
•Facilitate communication between ZOA, local partners, community leaders, and project stakeholders to promote collaboration and address issues as they arise.
•Participate in project inception meetings and community engagement activities to promote project objectives.
8.Capacity Building:
•Identify training needs for facilitators and community members and support the local partner(s) in the development of training materials.
•Attend trainings and workshops organized by ZOA or the implementing partner(s) concerning the projects activities or related topics.
9.Risk Management:
•Identify potential risks or challenges during project implementation and communicate these to the Senior Project Officer with suggestions for mitigation.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferably in social sciences, community development, psychology, or related field. Alternatively, more than 5 years of experience in similar fields can be considered as a substitute for the non-related Bachelor’s degrees.
•Minimum 4 years of experience in similar projects implementation, particularly in a humanitarian context.
•Understanding of psychosocial support methodologies and community-driven development practices.
•Good spoken and written command of English and Arabic languages.
Skills:
•Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
•Familiarity with community engagement and empowerment strategies.
