				Responsibilities 
JOB SUMMARY: 
The purpose of this role is to support the HR team with HR-related activities that involve the government authorities and ensure these activities are timely executed. Typical actions include providing support processing international staff and visitors’ visa and work residency permits in line with the government’s immigration rules and regulations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with all government liaison HR processes, such as follow-up on Agreements, permits, visas, and non-program related correspondences.
- Support with the cultivation and maintenance of good relationships with government contacts.
- Assist coordination with relevant government ministries and authorities by ensuring that all staff movement permits, authorizations, and other procedures/protocols/agreements/MOUs are done on time.
- Ensure that all IMC staff are properly informed of the applicable government procedures, protocols, and processes relevant to International Medical Corps.
- Assist with processing custom clearance permits for materials arriving from abroad.
- Coordinate IMC activities with the relevant government departments.
- Network with other humanitarian agencies and government authorities for information gathering, sharing, and triangulation during crises and other emergencies when IMC requires external support.
- Assist with documenting the team’s movements and permits for program operation and activities implementation in the targeted areas with the relevant stakeholders and government authorities.
- Support management in completing timely and accurate responses to government orders, information, documents, and letters related to IMC’s program.
- Draft, submit, follow up, and record physical and electronic archives of all communications with government authorities, including but not limited to: program inquiries (Agreements PA or Sub Agreements, and MOUs signing) and authorization requests, mission requests, meetings and workshops, reporting, permits (work, field visit work plans).
- Submits all visas, residences, work permits, and processes for all Expats staff, Consultants, Visitors, and Volunteers deploying or visiting IMC mission for short or long term by ensuring that the visas are done on time.
- Support the processing of all visas for national and international staff traveling abroad on business trips.
- Administer a proper filing system to retain all visas, travel permits, and residency records, and prepare and submit monthly status reports to IMC Management.

Qualifications 
- Typically, a bachelor's degree in a related field 
- 1-2 years progressive work experience in government liaison duties.
- Ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
- Experience of liaising and negotiating with state and non-state actors: full understanding of the security/governmental context in Syria with strong analytical Skills.
- Solid problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with liaising and negotiating with state and non-state actors.
- Computer skills.
- Good written and spoken English and the national language as required.
