JOB SUMMARY
The psychologist will provide mental health and psychosocial support services, individual and group counselling, and psychotherapy.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with national and international guidelines on best practices related to mental health and psychosocial support, the psychologist will:
- Provide evidence-based psychological services for clients and their families with mental health conditions and psychosocial issues.
- Engage with clinical and supportive supervision.
- Work as part of a mental health case management team along with other service providers
- Support the delivery of trainings for staff on topics relevant to psychological practice and case management.
- Develop care plans that are individualized and mutually developed with the client.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and advise staff on carrying out risk assessments and the development of safety plans.
- Remain up to date on evidence-based psychological interventions and advances in the field of psychology.
- Remain up to date with professional development opportunities.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by Supervisor.
- Promote MHPSS through community-based activities

Qualifications
- A master’s degree in psychology and/or holding a license to practice psychology is essential
- Experience with an INGO (preferred)
- 3 + years’ experience in mental health preferred
- Master at least one psychotherapy technique
- Knowledge in human rights, especially as they relate to people with mental health and psychosocial concerns(preferred)
- Must be computer-literate, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in low-resource contexts
- Good ability to work in a multiethnic environment
- Interest in learning and continued professional development
- Arabic and English language ability is essential
- Experience working with a non-governmental organization
- Experience with an INGO (preferred)
