Responsibilities
The recruitment is Time-Based Contract, and during the contract period of 4 months, the Electrical Site Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Directly supervise the implementation of the project for the rehabilitation of low- and medium-voltage electricity networks, including the installation of electrical transformers, ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the approved designs and technical specifications.
- Conduct daily field follow-up to verify actual progress, monitor achievement against the implementation schedule, identify deviations or delays, and address them in coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
- Verify the technical specifications of materials supplied by the contractor to ensure full compliance with the approved technical offer and project requirements and attend materials testing such as for transformers and cables when required.
- Review and accurately calculate executed works and quantities, ensuring compliance with the Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and contractual documents, including certification of completed works.
- Immediately report to the supervisor any proposed changes in work scope, quantities, delays, or financial matters that may affect the project’s implementation or budget.
- Maintain continuous coordination with the contractor, local government authorities, and the local community to ensure smooth implementation of the project and timely resolution of challenges arising during execution.
- Prepare and submit regular detailed progress reports (daily/ weekly/monthly), highlighting completion rates, challenges, proposed solutions, and lessons learned, to be shared with the supervisor.
- Ensure adherence to the agreed implementation plan and timeline and take the necessary actions in case of risks that may affect project delivery.
- Monitor occupational safety measures at work sites, ensuring that all workers use personal protective equipment (PPE) and that operations comply with safety and environmental standards.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and challenges in order to strengthen knowledge sharing and improve future interventions.
- Perform any other tasks within the scope of the assignment as requested by the supervisor.


Qualifications
a. Education

- University degree in Electrical Engineering

b. Experience

- Minimum 4 years working experience.
- Previous experience in managing and supervising low- and medium-voltage electricity projects.
- Experience in renewable energy system design and implementation (e.g., solar PV, hybrid solutions).
- Familiarity with national electrical codes, safety standards, and UNDP rules.
- Experience in working with UN, INGOs, or donor-funded projects is an advantage.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages.

Language Requirements

- Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) is required.
- Working knowledge of English is an advantage.
