Responsibilities
The recruitment is Time-Based Contract, and during the contract period 4 months , the Project Technician will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Provide technical support to local authorities, community representatives, and UNDP programme teams on matters related to the rehabilitation of public service buildings—specifically the restoration and upgrading of the Maarrat Al-Nu’man Health Center.
- Participate in coordination and liaison with local authorities, NGOs, community groups, and relevant technical departments to facilitate smooth implementation of the rehabilitation works and ensure alignment with local needs.
- Assess the existing conditions of the health center and contribute to the formulation and refinement of technical interventions in line with UNDP standards, project objectives, and identified community priorities.
- Engage with local stakeholders to ensure their participation in the selection, planning, sequencing, and implementation of rehabilitation activities.
- Monitor and supervise daily construction and rehabilitation works, including civil, electrical, mechanical, sanitary, and central heating components, ensuring compliance with approved BoQs, technical specifications, safety measures, and environmental requirements.
- Provide regular progress reports (daily/weekly/monthly as required) on the status of the rehabilitation works, challenges faced, and mitigation actions taken.
- Document lessons learned throughout the implementation phase and share best practices and observations with the Country Office to support future interventions.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
a. Education
- University degree in Civil Engineering, or other related field.
b. Experience
- Three years of operational experience.
- Previous experience in rehabilitation of basic infrastructure, especially water and sewage networks.
- Experience in community-based assistance and in participatory community actions is an asset.
- Previous experience in working with institutions of the civil society and local public organizations, and with UN system is an asset.
- Computer literacy is a prerequisite.
Language Requirements
- Excellent English drafting skills
- Arabic and English mandatory.
