Responsibilities
1. Deliver virtual legal counselling sessions to Syrians in Sweden and other EU countries, providing accurate, accessible, and context-specific information on legal rights, civil documentation, legal procedures, and requirements.

2. Advise beneficiaries on access to essential and basic services, including but not limited to health, education, employment, housing, and social protection.

3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Swedish administrative, legal, and asylum procedures as they relate to Syrians, including recent changes or relevant jurisprudence.

4. Identify legal protection concerns, assess potential needs for follow-up or referral, and coordinate as needed with relevant actors and service providers.

5. Support the development and dissemination of informational materials (flyers, FAQs, templates, etc.) tailored to the needs of Syrians residing in Sweden.

6. Participate in internal trainings and induction sessions to remain aligned with IOM’s legal assistance standards, case management systems, and referral mechanisms.

7. Regularly update and maintain confidential case files, using IOM case management and tracking tools, and compile periodic reports and summaries as requested.

8. Assist in identifying protection trends and gaps, providing input to improve relevant interventions and outreach strategies.

9. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.



Qualifications
• University Degree from an accredited academic university or institute.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience of working with clients or customers to solve problems.
• Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of actors, including people of culturally diverse backgrounds, government and authorities, humanitarian actors (UN agencies and NGOs).
• Experience working in development or humanitarian programming (specifically in International or National NGO/UN) is an asset
• Computer literacy with specific proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Reliable, efficient, high level of professionalism, and organizational skills.
• Good analytical skills for financial data, strong sense of details and accuracy.
• Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is required. Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
