Responsibilities
General Role
The PSEA Officer is responsible for ensuring the implementation of Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policies within the humanitarian organization. The role includes disseminating awareness messages regarding beneficiaries’ rights and ensuring the existence of safe and confidential reporting mechanisms for incidents of exploitation and abuse, as well as following up on reported cases.
Work Locations: Azaz – Safira – Manbij – Aleppo
Duties and Responsibilities
- Disseminate awareness messages on the organization’s zero-tolerance policy towards sexual exploitation and abuse.
- Raise community awareness that all humanitarian assistance is free of charge and must never require any form of payment or favor.
- Inform beneficiaries of their rights to report any abuse or exploitation.
- Ensure humanitarian staff comply with the organization’s Code of Conduct.
- Receive reports related to sexual exploitation or abuse.
- Follow up on complaints and ensure appropriate action is taken.
- Ensure confidentiality of information and protection of complainants.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure accountability and disciplinary measures when required.
- Ensure affected individuals are referred to appropriate services and support when needed.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Humanitarian Studies, Psychology, or a related discipline (Master’s degree is an asset).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in humanitarian work, protection, or a related field.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an asset.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of PSEA policies and standards.
- Understanding of humanitarian principles and Codes of Conduct.
- Strong community communication skills.
- Ability to handle complaints with high levels of confidentiality and sensitivity.
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
