General Role
The Child Protection / Child Safeguarding Officer is responsible for raising children’s awareness of their rights and ensuring their protection from exploitation or abuse by humanitarian workers or others. The role also ensures the availability of safe channels for children to report inappropriate behavior.
Work Locations: Azaz – Safira – Manbij – Aleppo
Duties and Responsibilities
- Raise awareness among children about their right to be treated with respect and dignity.
- Educate children that any form of abuse or inappropriate touching is unacceptable.
- Encourage children to report any inappropriate or harmful behavior.
- Guide children to seek support from trusted adults when needed.
- Ensure a safe environment for children in humanitarian activities and programs.
- Follow up on reports related to child protection and ensure appropriate safeguarding measures.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Humanitarian Studies, Psychology, or a related discipline (Master’s degree is an asset).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in humanitarian work, protection, or a related field.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an asset.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of child protection principles and standards.
- Experience working with children.
- Strong child-friendly communication skills.
- Ability to handle protection issues with high sensitivity and professionalism.
