Responsibilities
General Finance Support
-Support the Finance Manager and the finance team in the day-to-day implementation of financial procedures.
-Participate in internal finance meetings and contribute to effective communication within the finance unit.
-Coordinate with procurement, logistics, HR, and program teams on financial matters related to payments, documentation, and budget monitoring.
-Support the implementation and follow-up of the Finance Department Action Plan.
-Identify issues in financial processes and report improvement suggestions to the Finance Manager.
-Assist in collecting and compiling financial data required for internal and donor financial reports.
-Ensure timely financial support to operational teams in accordance with Tdh procedures
Accounting & Documentation
-Record financial transactions in the accounting system in accordance with Tdh chart of accounts and financial procedures.
-Support monthly accounting closure processes including voucher verification, correct coding, completeness of supporting documentation, and preparation of reconciliations.
-Verify that all financial documents are properly authorized and supported before processing.
-Ensure proper filing, archiving, and security of all financial documentation in accordance with Tdh policies.
-Conduct spot checks on vouchers and supporting documents as requested by the Finance Manager..
Payments, Cash & Bank Management
-Process cash and bank payments in accordance with Tdh financial procedures and the authorization matrix.
-Maintain and update the cashbook daily and ensure all cash transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
-Ensure sufficient cash balance is maintained to support operational activities.
-Monitor incoming and outgoing bank transactions and update the bankbook accordingly.
-Coordinate with banks regarding transfers, payment confirmations, and issue resolution.
-Ensure all payments are properly approved and supported by complete documentation before execution.
Budget Follow-Up
- Update and maintain Budget Follow-Up (BFU) tools on a regular basis.
-Verify budget availability before processing payments or financial commitments.
-Support the Finance Manager in monitoring budget utilization and identifying variances.
-Assist program teams in tracking expenditures against project budgets.
-Contribute to the preparation of financial information required for donor and internal reporting.
Compliance, Audit & Internal Control
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with Tdh financial procedures, donor regulations, and applicable Syrian legislation.
-Support internal and external audits by preparing and organizing financial documentation and responding to audit queries.
-Assist in the implementation and follow-up of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
-Apply Tdh administrative, financial, and internal control procedures consistently.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or relevant field.
-Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, or grants management.
-Experience working with NGOs, development organizations, or humanitarian programs is highly desirable.
-Experience working in conflict-affected or emergency environments is an asset.
-Strong ability to work effectively within a team and coordinate with multiple departments.
-Languages: Full professional proficiency in English and Arabic is mandatory.
Very good computer skills including MS Office (especially Excel), Outlook, and SharePoint.
-Experience with accounting or ERP systems, Experience on SAGA is an asset.
-Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, or grants management.
-Experience working with NGOs, development organizations, or humanitarian programs is highly desirable.
-Experience working in conflict-affected or emergency environments is an asset.
