Responsibilities
General Role
The Community Initiatives Officer is responsible for engaging with local communities to identify their needs and support the development and implementation of community-led initiatives. The role involves coordinating with community members, project teams, and internal departments to ensure effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of initiatives that respond to community priorities.
Work Locations: Azaz – Safira – Manbij – Aleppo
Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate with local community leaders and conduct interviews with direct beneficiaries to identify community needs.
- Explain the concept, objectives, and conditions of community initiatives to community members.
- Visit proposed initiative sites to assess needs and prioritize interventions based on urgency and feasibility.
- Support the initiative coordination team in drafting the initial initiative proposal form.
- Review and discuss initiative proposals with the Center Coordinator and submit them to project management for approval.
- Coordinate and communicate with coordination members and the self-management group to implement the initiative.
- Coordinate with the Procurement Department to secure the necessary materials, define required specifications, and ensure delivery to the initiative site.
- Follow up and supervise the tasks of volunteers at the community center.
- Prepare final reports for completed initiatives.
- Archive all documents and records related to the Community Initiatives Program in both hard copy and electronic formats.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Proficiency in English is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
