Responsibilities
General Role:
The Stabilization Support Unit (SSU) is seeking to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant who will be responsible for managing and implementing financial and accounting operations in a manner that ensures accuracy, transparency, and compliance with internal policies, international accounting standards, and donor requirements.
The position also involves preparing periodic financial reports and supporting decision-making by providing reliable financial information. Additionally, this position plays a key role in strengthening internal control systems and enhancing the efficiency of financial management for projects and programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute daily accounting operations, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly account closures.
- Prepare and review periodic financial reports in accordance with international standards and donor requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, donor regulations, and local legislation.
- Monitor budget implementation, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to management.
- Oversee internal and external audit processes and coordinate with auditors.
- Manage cash flow and conduct financial planning to ensure operational continuity.
- Review payments and expenditures to ensure compliance with approved policies and procedures.
- Develop and improve financial and internal control systems and procedures within the unit.
- Provide technical support and supervise the accounting team.
- Coordinate with program teams to ensure efficient utilization of financial resources.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within NGOs or international organizations.
- Advanced knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS or IPSAS).
- Proven experience in grant management and compliance with donor requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are an asset.
