Responsibilities
General Role:
The Stabilization Support Unit (SSU) / Stabilization Institution is seeking to recruit a Community Center Coordinator for each of the following locations: Al-Sfera and Manbij.
The role is responsible for the overall supervision of the management and operation of the community center, ensuring the implementation of activities and services in line with approved plans and the quality standards adopted by SSU. The position also focuses on promoting community participation, ensuring targeted groups have access to available services, and leading the team in a way that contributes to achieving project objectives and improving community response.
This position requires a high level of organizational and leadership skills, the ability to coordinate with technical and administrative teams as well as local stakeholders, in addition to a strong commitment to humanitarian principles, protection, non-discrimination, and professional confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily operations of the community center and ensure activities are implemented in accordance with the work plan approved by project management and technical coordinators.
- Raise awareness within the local community in targeted areas about the programs and services provided by the center, and attract beneficiaries through an approach that considers age, gender, and social diversity.
- Conduct regular meetings with the team to assess performance, identify challenges, and discuss practical solutions to improve community response.
- Foster a positive working environment that encourages cooperation and team spirit among staff, facilitators, and volunteers.
- Design and implement a regular performance evaluation mechanism for team members and submit semi-annual reports to the Project Manager.
- Monitor staff attendance on a daily basis and prepare accurate monthly attendance records in a timely manner.
- Prepare and regularly update a comprehensive service mapping for targeted areas in coordination with the team to ensure effective referrals and sustainable support.
- Conduct focus group discussions with the local community to understand needs and identify service gaps.
- Coordinate the mobile team’s activities and determine monthly intervention locations based on needs assessments and priorities.
- Prepare a monthly work plan in coordination with the team and submit it to the Project Manager at the beginning of each month.
- Prepare and submit periodic and emergency reports within the required deadlines and share them with the designated reporting focal point.
- Ensure proper documentation and archiving of all center activities in both electronic and hard-copy formats in an organized and secure manner.
- Adhere to the policies, procedures, objectives, and values of the Stabilization Support Unit in all aspects of work.
- Maintain full confidentiality and privacy of beneficiaries, ensuring their records and data are securely managed.
- Participate in training, professional development programs, and coordination meetings when required.
- Perform any other duties related to the community center as requested by direct management.

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Management, Community Development, Psychology, Education, or any related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in managing community centers or humanitarian/development projects, preferably with local or international NGOs.
- Proven experience in team supervision and management of community-based activities.
- Good understanding of humanitarian principles, protection, and accountability to affected populations.
- Strong skills in planning, organization, follow-up, and report writing.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with local communities and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, email, and digital work tools.
