Topic of the Training
The training will focus on residential electrical installation, repair, and maintenance, providing both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice. It will cover safe handling of electrical equipment, wiring systems, troubleshooting, and basic business management for electricians.

By the end of the course, trainees will be capable of performing safe, efficient, and reliable electrical work in households and small commercial establishments.

3. Indicative Contents of the Training
The trainer will be expected to design a comprehensive training curriculum to achieve the intended learning outcomes. Indicative content includes:

Introduction to Electrical Work:
• Basic concepts of electricity and electrical systems
• Understanding electrical units (voltage, current, resistance, power)
• Overview of electrical tools and equipment
• Occupational safety, health, and hygiene practices
Domestic Electrical Installation
• Wiring systems and installation of electrical circuits
• Installation of sockets, switches, fuses, and lighting systems
• Earthing and grounding methods
• Testing electrical connections and continuity

Electrical Appliances and Maintenance
• Repair and maintenance of common household appliances
• Troubleshooting wiring faults and overloads
• Replacing damaged wires, fuses, and circuit breakers
• Energy efficiency and safe use of appliances

Business and Customer Service Skills
• Cost estimation and pricing for electrical services
• Customer relations and communication
• Marketing and personal branding as a local electrician
• Record-keeping, tools management, and small business setup

4. Learning Outcomes & Employment Opportunities
By the end of the training, participants are expected to:

• Understand the fundamentals of electricity and household wiring systems.
• Safely install, maintain, and repair household electrical systems and appliances.
• Identify and troubleshoot common electrical problems.
• Use electrical tools and equipment with confidence.
• Apply safety standards to prevent accidents and hazards.Manage a small electrical service business, including costing, pricing, and customer service.
Graduates will be able to work as independent electricians serving their communities.

6. Profile of Target Audience
The AFH program staff will be selecting the trainees based on standard selection criteria that serve program objectives regarding client vulnerability, client interest, and accessibility to training, and enhancing social cohesion between IDPs, refugees, and host communities. Vulnerable clients, as determined by the AFH livelihoods vulnerability assessment, will be given priority during selection.
7. Pre and Post-training Tests
The training provider will be entrusted with developing and administering a “pre-test” to determine the level of knowledge and skills of the trainees in relation to the various training modules. This test will then be re-administered following the last training session to the clients, known as the “post-test,” and will help measure the change in information retention and skills acquisition. The test should be reviewed and approved by AFH livelihoods staff before being administered to the trainees. The training provider will be expected to administer the tests, collect the results, and document them in a “Technical Training Report” to be submitted one week after the last training session to AFH.

8. Expected Arrangements from the Training Provider
The training provider is expected to ensure the following:
- At least one trainer with education and experience relevant to the training to be staffed or recruited for the entire contract period. The training provider should clearly indicate who will be the main trainer when bidding for the contract.
- Proven experience in delivering technical education and vocational training programs, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of beneficiaries effectively.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation processes, including data collection and analysis.
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and respect for cultural diversity and maintain safe learning environments in the classroom.
- SR will provide support staff to monitor attendance and ensure the availability of refreshments for the clients.
- All materials and tools needed for the training (please separate the specific material costs in the budget estimate when bidding for the contract).
- Trainer to review the training books and/or handouts in Arabic and distribute to the trainees.
- Trainer with collaboration with SR team, to issue certificate of participation, based on attendance and learning.
- The trainer to support/ be part of selection committee to ensure the trainees meet the basic requirements meaningfully engage or enrol in the training.
- The trainer should closely collaborate with the SR program supervisor and follow their guidance to contribute effectively to the project outcomes.
- The trainer is expected to support SR team to list out the necessary equipment’s to facilitate procurement process which in turn will help out the participants to practice the learning during the learning journey.
When delivering training to vulnerable participants, drop-outs are expected. Accordingly, the training provider is expected to take the below points into consideration to reduce the number of trainees dropping out from the training:
- The training provider must make sure that trainees meet the basic requirements to meaningfully engage in the training. If basic requirements are not met, the training provider should immediately communicate any concerns to AFH.
- Training hours must be decided in coordination with interested beneficiaries to maximize attendance and avoid drop-outs. AFH will support the training provider in ensuring that trainees will be attending the training. Past experience shows that trainees prefer morning and afternoon sessions.
- The training provider should include group projects during the training to increase students engagement
- The training provider must consider specific needs of clients and people living with disability. AFH staff will be following up with training providers to ensure that trainers and the training space is suitable.

- The training provider must comply with PSEA, safeguarding, and code of conduct policies. Any breach of these policies will result in disciplinary action.

9. Expected Deliverables
- One curriculum for the duration of 100-120 hours to each participant equivalent to 12 weeks (a maximum period of 15 weeks), including theory and practice activities.
- A facilitator’s guide in Arabic, including:
 The training calendar with session titles.
 The Facilitator’s Guide organized by training sessions describing:
 Session topic
 Learning objectives,
 Duration of the session,
 List of key contents and talking points,
 Sequence of steps to deliver the session,
 Required materials.
 The pre- and post-training test
- Attendance sheets of each training day, with signatures or fingerprints
- Delivery of the 2 to 3-hour training sessions.
- A training report including the results of pre- and post-tests of each trainee, and individual recommendations on areas for improvement.

All information related to this position, including applications, beneficiary information, and selection processes, will be treated with strict confidentiality.
