Responsibilities
1.Assess, review, monitor and improve current existing field assessment mechanisms and information management (IM) tools used in the Emergency and Post-Crisis (EPC) unit, including the design, development, deployment, and capacity building of staff on new tools to meet requirements.
2.Develop templates, catalogues and style guides for general map production; provide sector-specific maps and graphics on a regular basis that aid forward planning, impact analysis, and advocacy.
3.Ensure that IM tools and reporting templates for the EPC unit incorporate gender and age disaggregation of data and reporting on more vulnerable groups, and support the mainstreaming of protection and GBV.
4.Support and maintain existing online platforms being used by the Syria EPC unit (in consultation with Clusters and Sectors of which IOM are a member); propose improvements and upgrades required and support development of new platforms, dashboards etc. as required.
5.Contribute to regular reporting and dissemination on IOM Syria’s EPC activities, ensuring smooth sharing of incoming information within the team
6.Support technical liaison between relevant sectoral departments in EPC to ensure coordinated and efficient processing of of relevant information related to project activities.
7.Participate in Inter-Cluster Information Management Working Group and other relevant working groups. Support liaison with external partners.
8.Support and maintain the EPC unit’s accountability and complaints and feedback data collection process and database, identifying gaps, areas of improvement and contributing ideas to enhance visibility.
9.Ensure adequate reporting and effective information sharing amongst all partners; disaggregating data by age, gender, and other traits; provide information outputs in the local language whenever feasible.
10.Support the implementation of data confidentiality guidelines adopted by IOM to protect sensitive data.
11.Support the training of the EPC team on Information Management skills such as data collection, analysis, and visualization.
12.Undertake duty travel as required to support coordination and monitoring activities for project implementation.
13.Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
1.Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Media or Social Sciences,Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
2.Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE
1.Experience in coordination of information flows and data management including collecting, storing, verifying, validating, processing, and analyzing data to generate information products;
2.Experience in emergency and recovery humanitarian operations and familiarity with the humanitarian cluster systems, and camp management technical guidelines, standards, andindicators.
3.In-depth knowledge of the latest technological developments in information technology andinformation system;
4.Demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies;
5.Experience in the development and management of database applications;
6.Experience in advanced data visualization and information design skills; and,
7.Prior work experience with IOM or the UN System is an advantage.
