Responsibilities
A. Program Implementation & Quality Assurance
•Support the implementation of integrated protection and education activities, ensuring that case management and PSS are effectively delivered within education settings
•Ensure safe, inclusive, and protective learning environments for children
•Apply and monitor case management SOPs within the education context, including identification and support of at-risk children
•Conduct regular field visits to education sites to ensure compliance with protection principles and standards
B. SOPs Development & Technical Guidance
•Lead the development and adaptation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for:
oChild protection activities within education programs
oCase management processes and service delivery
•Develop practical guidelines and tools to support teachers, facilitators, and case workers in implementing child protection and PSS activities in learning environments
•Ensure SOPs and guidance are aligned with Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS) and organizational policies.
•Regularly review and update SOPs based on field feedback and lessons learned
C. Capacity Building & Training
•Design and deliver training sessions for education and protection staff on:
oCase management in education settings
oPFA and PSS for children
oClassroom-based PSS approaches
oChild protection and safeguarding in schools
•Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to field staff
•Build staff capacity to identify, refer, and respond to protection risks affecting children’s education
D. Case Management Supervision
•Supervise case workers handling cases identified through education activities
•Review case files to ensure quality, confidentiality, and proper documentation
•Support case conferences and decision-making for complex cases
•Ensure timely and appropriate referrals to specialized services
E. Coordination & Integration
•Coordinate closely with education teams to ensure strong integration between protection and education components
•Engage with schools, communities, and relevant stakeholders
•Act as the focal point for ADRA Syria with the Protection Sector and Child Protection sub-sector
F. Reporting, Documentation & Learning
•Contribute to program reporting, including integrated education-protection indicators.
•Develop success stories, case studies, and human-interest stories highlighting the impact of protection and education interventions on children.
•Document lessons learned and best practices to inform program improvement.

G. Safeguarding & Accountability
•Ensure safeguarding measures are fully integrated within education activities
•Promote child-friendly feedback and complaint mechanisms
•Report safeguarding concerns in line with ADRA policies
•Any other duties as assigned


Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred)
•Minimum 3–5 years of experience in protection programming, including case management and PSS, preferably with an NGO
•Demonstrated experience in developing SOPs, guidelines, or technical tools
•Experience in integrating protection within education programs is highly desirable

•Strong technical writing skills (SOPs, guidelines, reports, success stories)
•Excellent training and facilitation skills
•Strong coordination and communication abilities
•High ethical standards and confidentiality
•Fluency in Arabic and English (writing and speaking)
•Ability and willingness to travel

ADRA Syria is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual based in Damascus to be responsible for overseeing and strengthening the quality of protection interventions, with a primary focus on case management and Psychosocial Support (PSS) activities integrated within education programs for children. The role ensures that child protection principles are embedded in education interventions, while leading the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical guidelines, and documentation of protection program impact.
