Responsibilities
General Role:
The Stabilization Support Unit (SSU) / Stabilization Organization is seeking to recruit Psychosocial Support (PSS) Facilitators to work within the community centers and project intervention areas in Al-Sfera and Manbij.
The incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing, and facilitating psychosocial, recreational, and creative activities targeting children, adolescents, adults, and vulnerable groups. These activities aim to enhance psychosocial well-being, strengthen community cohesion, develop life skills, and promote positive coping mechanisms among beneficiaries.
The PSS Facilitator will also contribute to the early identification of individuals who may require specialized psychosocial support or case management services and ensure appropriate referral to relevant services in line with established procedures.
The PSS Facilitator works closely with the psychosocial support, protection, case management, and community teams to ensure safe and inclusive programming that considers age, gender, diversity, and specific needs. This position requires strong facilitation and communication skills, as well as the ability to work with groups, in addition to a solid commitment to humanitarian principles, protection, non-discrimination, confidentiality, and the “Do No Harm” principle.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop social and creative activity plans for beneficiaries based on identified needs within the community surrounding the community center, aiming to improve communication, strengthen social and family bonds, and support the identification and referral of individuals with psychosocial needs to the PSS Case Manager.
- Assist in identifying Persons of Concern experiencing psychological or social distress and refer them to the Case Manager or relevant focal point within the psychosocial support department.
- Design, organize, and facilitate small group activities in close coordination with the Case Manager and the psychosocial support team.
- Plan and implement Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) awareness sessions within community centers and intervention areas.
- Collaborate and coordinate with all department staff and provide necessary support for joint activities, including activities targeting persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
- Adhere to MHPSS principles and standards in accordance with Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) guidelines, including strict application of the “Do No Harm” principle in all interventions.
- Support the mainstreaming of psychosocial support concepts across all community center activities through continuous capacity building of staff and volunteers and strengthening adherence to protection principles.
- Assist in developing and maintaining staff and volunteer self-care and well-being mechanisms.
- Prepare and submit periodic activity reports in line with required formats and procedures.
- Participate in relevant training sessions, capacity-building programs, and coordination meetings as required.
- Contribute to the development of periodic work plans and suggest improvements to enhance service quality.
- Ensure proper documentation and secure management of all relevant data and records in line with data protection policies.
- Adhere to the policies, procedures, values, and principles of the Stabilization Support Unit in all aspects of work.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by direct management.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health, Social Sciences, Community Development, Education, or any related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in psychosocial support, community work, protection, or child/youth-focused programming, preferably with local or international NGOs.
- Good knowledge of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) principles and Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) guidelines.
- Experience in designing and facilitating recreational, creative, and awareness-raising group activities for different age groups.
- Ability to work with children, adolescents, adults, and vulnerable groups in a professional, safe, and inclusive manner respecting protection and non-discrimination principles.
- Good understanding of protection principles, referral systems, child protection, PSEA, and accountability to affected populations.
- Strong facilitation, communication, group management, and community engagement skills.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and in dynamic field environments under pressure.
- Good planning, organization, reporting, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and basic digital tools.
- Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written); knowledge of English is an asset.
- Willingness to work in field settings and travel within intervention areas.
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in the duty station or able to access it regularly.
