Responsibilities
- Implements and follows up various field activities, in accordance with objectives.
- Monitors the humanitarian environment and needs.
- Analyses the security, socio-economic, cultural and political environment as relevant to the ICRC (regional/national/local level). Shares pertinent information with colleagues and reports any changes in the situation.
- Contributes to designing/setting the orientation of the programmes and projects.
- Collects, compiles, translates/interprets information about the projects and contributes to written reporting.
- Participates in and holds internal and external meetings and develops and maintains contacts with high-level municipal/regional authorities, local/regional Red Cross/Red Crescent Society branches, non-governmental organizations (local and international) and the population.
- Participates in the weekly Sub-delegation security/safety meetings and provides analysis on developments and potential safety impacts on ICRC staff & assets.
- Supports the Security and Safety Risk Management (SSRM) process by developing security protocols and updating monitoring tools for security-related files, ensuring all incidents (including near misses) are reported timely in SAFE.
- Records all updated security files in SAFE and ensures periodic reviews and compliance.
- Managing generalist field officers, the operation room operators including the HR aspect, produced reports, updates of relevant SoP’s, etc. and the security guards in Aleppo including the arrangement of shift, HR related issues, trainings, drills, etc..
- Participates in and supports the mapping of the stakeholders’ network of the sub-structure under the lead of the Head of Sub Delegation, and identifies, and proposes contacts with potential interlocutors related to the security file.


Qualifications
- University degree.
- 4 - 6 years’ overall professional experience in a similar field of activity, ideally including 2–3 years with the ICRC.
- 3 - 4 years’ experience as a manager or program officer in similar fields.
- Fluent level of English.
- Computer literacy.
