Responsibilities
• Manage procurement activities for PYG’s various contracting and construction projects.
• Receive and review purchase requests from project managers, site teams, quantity surveyor and other relevant departments.
• Obtain quotations from local and international suppliers for construction materials, equipment, tools, and subcontracted services.
• Conduct market research and maintain updated knowledge of prices, suppliers, products, and available alternatives in the Syrian and international markets.
• Prepare technical and commercial comparison sheets for suppliers’ and subcontractors’ quotations.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
• Support the pricing and estimation of new projects by obtaining current and competitive market prices.
• Coordinate with the Quantity Surveyor, technical team, project managers, and management to ensure that purchased items comply with project specifications and approved budgets.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure that all required approvals and supporting documents are obtained.
• Follow up on purchase orders, shipments, deliveries, customs procedures, and imported materials until they are received at the required location.
• Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment to project sites in accordance with project schedules.
• Verify suppliers’ invoices, delivered quantities, and supporting documentation before submitting them for payment.
• Maintain an updated database of local and international suppliers, including their prices, products, contact details, performance, and payment terms.
• Identify alternative suppliers and materials when required to improve cost, quality, or delivery time.
• Assist in evaluating suppliers based on pricing, quality, reliability, delivery performance, and after-sales service.
• Prepare regular procurement, price comparison, purchasing status, and supplier performance reports for management.
• Work simultaneously on several contracting projects undertaken by PYG.
• Perform any additional procurement-related tasks requested by management.

Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture is preferred.
• Candidates with an assistant engineering qualification and relevant procurement experience in construction projects may also be considered.
• A minimum of three years of practical experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or project pricing within the construction sector.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, equipment, finishing materials, and subcontracted works.
• Strong knowledge of suppliers, products, and construction material prices in the Syrian market.
• Good understanding of international purchasing, imported materials, shipping, and supply procedures.
• Previous experience in obtaining quotations and supporting the pricing of construction projects.
• Ability to read and understand structural, architectural, and MEP drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier-management skills.
• Good command of English, particularly for communicating with international suppliers and reviewing quotations and technical documents.
• Proficiency in Arabic.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to prepare clear technical and commercial comparison sheets.
• Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage several purchase requests and projects simultaneously.
• Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in contracting companies and with both local and international suppliers.
