Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Backend Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems that support the organization's digital platforms and core business applications. The role contributes to the design of software architecture, integration of enterprise systems, implementation of best development practices, and continuous improvement of backend services while ensuring system reliability, security, and maintainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using modern software development practices.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services to support web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
• Design and optimize relational and non-relational database structures, queries, and stored procedures.
• Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of backend systems.
• Integrate backend services with internal and external systems through APIs and secure communication protocols.
• Participate in software architecture design and contribute to technical decision-making for enterprise applications.
• Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and other security mechanisms in accordance with industry best practices.
• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Optimize application performance and continuously improve system efficiency and reliability.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, and development guidelines.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, business analysts, QA engineers, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Support deployment, release management, and production issue resolution while ensuring minimal service disruption.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development standards, coding practices, and software lifecycle processes.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to development team members where required.
• Ensure compliance with organizational technology standards, cybersecurity policies, and software development procedures.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications related to software development, cloud technologies, or backend frameworks are considered an advantage.
• Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in backend software development.
• Strong experience with modern backend technologies such as .NET, Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, or equivalent enterprise development frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, object-oriented programming, and software design patterns.
• Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle, including database optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of secure software development principles, authentication protocols, and application security best practices.
• Experience working with enterprise systems, high-availability applications, and mission-critical environments is preferred.
