Responsibilities
Tasks and Responsibilities:

Create high-quality written and visual content, including articles, photos, videos, and infographics, aligned with SAMS’ messaging and branding.
Coordinate media coverage of SAMS’ programs and events in Syria, including press releases and media publications.
Provide training and guidance to field staff on ethical and effective media practices
Build relationships with local and international media.
Monitor media coverage and prepare media reports.
Ensure that all content adheres to SAMS’ messaging and branding guidelines.
Provide logistical support to visiting media teams and ensure their adherence to SAMS’ safety protocols.
Serve as a liaison between the field teams and the Communications team in HQ.
Uphold ethical standards in all media-related activities.
Field Media
Coordinate filming and photography requests with field teams
Coordinate requests from other departments (missions, programs, etc.)
Develop simple field production briefs
Coordinate logistics, shot lists, permissions/consent and deliverables
Help determine what should be captured before a mission/event begins
Coordinate external photographers, videographers and freelancers.
Grant/donor visibility
Content creation for social media
Collect success stories from facilities
Manage the media archive
Draft, format, and disseminate monthly newsletter, report
Attend all meetings related to the Syria communication team (internal, external).
Maintain emailing lists for media outlets, and other international and Syrian NGOs.
Perform other duties as assigned
Staff management
Ensure all his/her staff have job descriptions and are aware of their responsibilities.
Develop performance objectives for each staff. Evaluate staff according to SAMS HR policy.
Develop professional development plans for staff.
Delegate appropriately.
Build an effective team approach ensuring project staff are working together effectively.
Hold weekly team meetings with all staff for planning purposes, information sharing and problem solving.
Office culture
Promote and model a positive, professional and respectful office culture.
Initiate team building initiatives.
Ensure effective and positive transition for exiting employees.
Ensure effective internal communications


Qualifications
Academic Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Communications; preference given to graduates in Informatics, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: One to 4 years of experience

Languages: Fluent in Arabic and upper-intermediate in English

Technical Skills: Photography, videography, and editing software skills (such as Adobe Creative Suite) are preferred
