Responsibilities
PURPOSE:
*Is responsible for the accounting and financial control functions of the hotel.
*Ensures all related local and corporate policies and procedures and management/others agreements are observed by all hotel management personnel.
*Safeguard all of the hotel assets and financial resources to ensure that all are utilized to maximize the hotel profitability.
*Provide timely and accurate financial information and counsel to the hotel senior management on all aspects.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Ensure the monitoring, controlling and recording of all sales, purchases, salaries and expenses of the hotel.
2.Ensure the preparation of a comprehensive monthly report of the entire financial results of the hotel in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
3.Prepare forecasts and budgets as required either locally or by the corporate office and to report any deviation of over expenditure, under budgeting or non-compliance to the approved budget to the General Manager.
4.Assign and delegate responsibility and authority to the Assistant Controller, Director of Purchasing and other supervisors who assist the Controller with the financial administration of the hotel.
5.Assist the General Manager in establishing policies, rules, internal controls and safeguards that ensure profitability and control of operations and to report any deviations to the General Manager.
6.Provide treasurer functions to the hotel with regard to cash planning and review the cash position on a daily basis in order to optimize the use of funds.
7.Review the status of Accounts Receivable aging and monitor billing and collections to ensure achieving company standards.
8.Ensure that all local, state, and federal taxes are deposited timely and all related reports are filed on a timely basis.
9.Maintain files on all contracts, leases and agreements and ensure compliance with their requirements.
10.Take appropriate personnel related action including hiring, training, commending, disciplining, evaluating, etc.
11.Evaluate the performance of Accounting and Purchasing personnel with a view towards development and an emphasis on those individuals qualifying for future advancement.
12.Maintain close liaisons with the hotel's external and internal auditors and ensure effective action as necessary on all their agreed upon recommendations.
13.Conduct self in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons Hotels and encourage staff to do the same.
14.Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
15.Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.

Qualifications
1.Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
2.Must have a thorough knowledge of all jobs in the Accounting, Purchasing and Food and Beverage control areas.
3.Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all responsibilities and tasks.
4.Must be able to maintain good relationships with all departments in hotel and Home Office to promote effective internal control.
5.Must have a high degree of professional integrity, and be able to work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
6.Must have a commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures.
