Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
A. Data Management and Analysis
• Develop, maintain, and update surveillance databases (EWARS, CBS, VPDs, weekly and monthly reporting diseases).
• Conduct routine analysis of surveillance data—including trends, geographic distribution, and early warning signals.
Produce tables, dashboards, and GIS maps to support decision-making.
B. Data Quality Assurance (DQA)
• Design and implement data quality assurance mechanisms at central and governorate levels.
• Validate data received from health directorates, hospitals, health centers, NGOs, and CBS community focal points.
• Follow up on missing or inconsistent data and coordinate corrective actions with governorates surveillance teams.
C. Technical Support to Surveillance Systems
• Support integration processes between EWARS and CBS.
• Contribute to the development and updating of data collection tools, assessment instruments, and electronic forms.
• Ensure that case definitions and reporting tools are correctly reflected in databases.
D. Reporting
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly surveillance reports for priority diseases, including cholera, hepatitis A, measles, and leishmaniasis.
• Contribute to the influenza surveillance reports under the PIP 2026–2027 workplan.
E. Capacity Building
• Train governorate-level surveillance staff and health facility focal points on data entry, analysis, and use of digital reporting tools.
• Contribute to Training of Trainers (ToT) for EWARS evaluation and CBS integration.
F. Outbreak Response Support
• Provide rapid epidemiological data analysis during outbreaks.
• Support rapid response teams (RRTs) with relevant data collecting tools, trends, and risk assessments.

Qualifications
• University degree in Data Science, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or applied Mathematics.
Specific Vacancy Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health or epidemiological data management.
• Previous experience with surveillance systems such as EWARS/EWARN.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, DHIS2 and database management systems.
• Experience with GIS (advantage).
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Experience in training and capacity building.
